Co-Hosted by the Cornell Clubs of Eastern Florida, Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton and Greater Miami
Please join us for the day at Oleta River State Park in North Miami Beach. The Park is situated along the scenic Oleta River and Biscayne Bay. At 9 AM, we’ll take a 2.5 to 3 hour paddle among the mangrove trails and into the sheltered bay. We hope to see some manatees and dolphins. THIS PADDLE WILL BE SLOW-PACED AND SUITABLE FORBEGINNERS! PADDLING INSTRUCTION WILL BE GIVEN. The park concessionaire rents kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards – or you may bring your own.
Around noon, we’ll gather for a lavish burgers, hot dogs, salads, chips, desserts, sodas, etc. picnic lunch at the covered White Ibis pavilion. If you’re not a paddler, you’re welcome to join us for the lunch only.
After lunch, you can take advantage of the other park activities including mountain bike trails, walking trails, swimming in a sheltered sand beach, and fishing.
